Notre Dame eyes another home win

Dec 22, 2008 - 7:18 PM Savannah State (7-4) at No. 11 Notre Dame (8-2), 7:00 p.m. EST

SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Ticker) -- Winning at home has been virtually a certainty for Notre Dame the last couple years.

The 11th-ranked Fighting Irish look to win their 43rd consecutive home game when they host Savannah State on Monday.

Notre Dame has not lost at the Edmund P. Joyce Center since Marquette was victorious on February 25, 2006.

The Fighting Irish extended their school-record winning streak on Saturday with an 88-50 victory over Delaware State.

Luke Harangody scored 20 points - his third straight game with at least that many points - and Ryan Ayers added 18 in the win.

Savannah State has won its last two games, including a 47-42 victory over Texas A&M Corpus-Christi on Thursday.

The low-scoring Tigers, who are averaging 56.6 points per contest, do not have one player scoring in double figures. Freshman Rashad Hassan and Raye Bailey are each averaging 9.4 points per game.
