Georgetown looks to find rhythm vs. FIU
Dec 23, 2008 - 11:12 AM Florida International (4-8) at No. 9 Georgetown (8-1) 7:30 pm. ESTWASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Ninth-ranked Georgetown looks to rebound from its worst offensive showing on Tuesday when it meets Florida International in its final tuneup before conference play.
Chris Wright appeared to be the only player on top of his game, as he scored 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting in a 68-59 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
Georgetown shot a season-low 38 percent from the floor (19-of-50), but managed to extend its home winning streak to 27 games. The Hoyas will have to do better next Monday when they travel to Hartford to face No. 2 Connecticut in their Big East Conference opener.
One of the players looking to bounce back is freshman center Greg Monroe, who tied his season- low with eight points and failed to block a shot. Monroe entered the game averaging 2.5 blocks.
Georgetown will look to hand the Golden Panthers a fifth straight loss. FIU matched a season-high with 22 turnovers in a 62-57 setback to South Alabama on Saturday.
The Hoyas have won both meetings between the teams.
