After layoff, Tennessee hosts Louisiana-Lafayette
Dec 29, 2008 - 5:59 PM Louisiana-Lafayette (4-6) at No. 18 Tennessee (8-2), 7:30 p.m. ESTKNOXVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- No. 18 Tennessee will play its first game in over a week when it hosts Louisiana-Lafayette on Monday.
The Volunteers last took the floor on December 20, edging Belmont, 79-77, at home.
Tyler Smith scored 23 points in the win and the junior leads the team in scoring at 17.6 per game.
The contest against the Ragin' Cajuns should be more of a tune-up for the Volunteers, who travel to Kansas later in the week before hosting Gonzaga on January 7.
Louisiana-Lafayette has dropped two straight games, including a 56-54 setback to Sam Houston State on December 21.
Travis Bureau leads the Ragin' Cajuns in scoring at 16.8 points per game.
