UCLA visits lowly Oregon State

Jan 2, 2009 - 11:13 AM No. 9 UCLA (10-2) at Oregon State (5-5), 10:30 p.m. EST

CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- Oregon State has not won a Pac-10 Conference game in two years. Going against UCLA, the drought may continue a little longer.

The ninth-ranked Bruins visit the Beavers in the conference opener for both teams on Friday.

Oregon State has lost 22 straight Pac-10 games, which includes last season's dreadful 0-18 conference campaign.

But the Beavers come into the game on a four-game winning streak, their longest since a six-game run from December 13, 2004-January 2, 2005.

After missing the first six games, Calvin Haynes is averaging 18.8 points to lead Oregon State, which is coming off a 59-50 victory over Seattle University on Monday.

UCLA has won three straight Pac-10 titles and comes into the contest on a six-game winning streak.

Josh Shipp scored 16 points in the Bruins' 78-55 victory over Louisiana Tech on Sunday.

Darren Collison had a season-low two points but added 10 assists in the win. The senior leads the Bruins in scoring at 14.3 per game.

UCLA has won the last eight meetings between the two teams.
