Jan 6, 2009 - 3:11 PM No. 7 Texas (11-2) at Arkansas (11-1) 9:00 p.m. EST

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (Ticker) -- Seventh-ranked Texas caps off a challenging non-conference schedule Tuesday with a visit to Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas.

The Longhorns have played four ranked teams, going 2-2, prior to Big 12 play, which begins Saturday against Iowa State. They cruised in their last game, a 78-43 win over Appalachian State on Friday.

Texas rebounded from a 67-63 loss to Michigan State on December 20 with an impressive road 74-69 win over Wisconsin three days later. A.J. Abrams led all scorers with 21 points and Damion James added 18 points and 15 rebounds.

While Arkansas is not in the rankings, it has reeled off nine straight wins since its only loss of the season, a 62-57 setback to Missouri State back on November 22.

The Razorbacks handed previously undefeated Oklahoma its first loss of the season, 96-88, on December 30. Michael Washington led six players in double figures with 24 points and grabbed 11 boards. Stefan Welsh and Rotnei Clarke added 19 and 15 respectively.

Michael Sanchez, Courtney Fortson and former football standout Marcus Monk all contributed 12 points as Arkansas overcame 13 3-pointers by the Sooners.

Arkansas avoided a letdown in its next game, using a 21-2 run to defeat North Texas, 86-75, on Saturday. Washington scored a career-high 34 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line.
