Jan 7, 2009 - 11:34 AM DePaul (8-7) at No. 9 Syracuse (14-1), 7:00 p.m. EST

SYRACUSE, New York (Ticker) -- Syracuse is starting to prove it can win games in a variety of ways this season. DePaul is just hoping to start winning games.

The ninth-ranked Orange go for their sixth straight win when they host the Blue Demons on Wednesday.

Syracuse (14-1, 2-0 Big East) scored 100 points in its Big East Conference-opening rout of Seton Hall on December 30 before edging South Florida, 59-54, on Saturday.

The 59 points were a season low for the Orange, who are averaging 81 this campaign.

Jonny Flynn is averaging 16.8 points to lead five players in double figures for Syracuse. Andy Rautins has scored an average of 23 over his last three contests.

DePaul (8-7, 0-2) is coming off a 62-54 setback at Providence on Saturday, its seventh loss in 11 games.

Dar Tucker is leading the Blue Demons with 19.6 points per game, but the sophomore scored just 12 on 4-of-17 shooting in the loss to the Friars. Mac Koshwal, who is averaging 14.2 points and 11.2 rebounds, had a season-low seven points while his streak of double-doubles ended at five games.

Syracuse won the lone meeting between the teams last season, a 60-55 triumph at DePaul.
