Alando seeks another solid scoring effort for No. 13 Wisconsin

Dec 2, 2006 - 2:59 PM Florida Intl (3-4) at No. 13 Wisconsin (6-1) 2:00 pm EST

MADISON, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- Alando Tucker has been on a roll and Wisconsin has benefited from his production.

A 6-6 senior forward, Tucker tries to remain the Big Ten Conference's leading scorer when the 13th-ranked Badgers take aim at their ninth straight home victory Saturday against Florida International.

The preseason Big Ten Player of the Year, Alando averages 20.4 points and is the fifth-leading scorer in school history (1,644). He is expected to make his 98th career start, tying him with former teammate Mike Wilkinson for eighth place on Wisconsin's all-time list.

Tucker scored 22 points - his 14th straight game in double figures - and Kammron Taylor added 16 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Badgers in Tuesday's 81-66 victory over Florida State at the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

Wisconsin has won 32 of its last 33 home games against non-conference opponents and is 77-5 here under coach Bo Ryan.

Concluding a four-game road trip, Florida International has losses at South Florida and George Mason sandwiched around last Friday's 70-68 victory over Kennesaw State.

Chris Fuller scored 13 points and was the only Golden Panther in double figures in Monday's 69-35 defeat to George Mason. Florida International set a season low in points and shot just 32 percent (14-of-44) from the floor.

The will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Wisconsin has won all five previous encounters against Sun Belt Conference opposition.
