Arizona State looks to rebound against lowly Oregon State

TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- No. 16 Arizona State will try and begin a new winning streak when it hosts Oregon State in a Pac-10 Conference contest on Thursday.

The Sun Devils (12-2, 1-1 Pac-10) had their eight-game run snapped with an 81-71 setback at California on Sunday. Arizona State had won its previous three games by 30 points or more.

James Harden topped the 20-point plateau for the eighth time this season with 26 points in the loss. The sophomore is averaging 23.4 per contest.

Along with the rest of the Pac-10, Arizona State swept the series last season with Oregon State, which went 0-18 in conference play a season ago.

The Beavers snapped their 23-game Pac-10 losing streak with a 62-58 overtime triumph over Southern California on Sunday.

Roeland Schaftenaar tied a season-high with 18 points and made the game-tying 3-pointer in the waning seconds of regulation. Calvin Haynes added 16 points and leads the team in scoring at 17.8 per game.

Oregon State's last road win in the Pac-10 came at Arizona State on January 13, 2007.
