Duke looks to continue rolling

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Passed over for the top spot in the latest coaches' poll, second-ranked Duke will try and make its case on Tuesday when it hosts North Carolina State.

The Blue Devils (16-1, 3-0 ACC) are coming off a 76-67 victory over then-No. 9 Georgetown on Saturday, but maintained their No. 2 spot as previously third-ranked Wake Forest (16-0) jumped to the top following its win at Clemson.

Gerald Henderson scored 23 points and Kyle Singler had 15 and 16 rebounds in the latest win for Duke, its eighth straight. Singler is averaging 16.8 and 8.4 to lead the Blue Devils.

N.C. State (10-5, 1-2) snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday, defeating Georgia Tech in overtime, 76-71.

Brandon Costner scored 22 points and Ben McCauley had 18 and 10 rebounds to lead the Wolfpack, who have lost both road conference contests this season.

Duke swept the two-game series last season.
