Dec 3, 2006 - 4:04 PM No. 24 Georgia Tech (6-1) at Miami Fl (4-3) 5:30 pm EST

CORAL GABLES, Florida (Ticker) -- With Atlantic Coast Conference play still more than a month away, 24th-ranked Georgia Tech visits Miami in a rare December league matchup on Sunday.

Battles between ACC teams do not get into full swing until January, but the Yellow Jackets and Hurricanes get conference play underway.

Georgia Tech is just 4-4 in early league games, but more importantly it is 4-2 lifetime against Miami, including 2-1 here.

The Yellow Jackets rebounded from their loss to UCLA with a 77-73 triumph over Penn State in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Tuesday. Lewis Clinch scored 20 points and Anthony Morrow added 15 for Georgia Tech, which made 15 steals.

The Hurricanes absorbed a 61-59 loss to Northwestern on Tuesday. Jack McClinton netted 30 points and Anthony King added eight points and 10 rebounds for Miami, which shot just 38 percent (21-of-56) overall.

The Hurricanes came away victorious, 70-53, in last season's lone meeting in Atlanta.
