Louisville looks to remain perfect in Big East

Jan 21, 2009 - 11:20 AM No. 12 Louisville (13-3) at Rutgers (9-9), 7:00 p.m. EST

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- After enduring some struggles in non-conference play, Louisville has felt right at home in the Big East.

The 12th-ranked Cardinals look to go 5-0 in the Big East when they visit struggling Rutgers on Wednesday.

Louisville (13-3, 4-0 Big East) lost home games to Western Kentucky and UNLV, as well as a contest to Minnesota during its non-conference slate.

However, the Cardinals have turned it around and are coming off consecutive victories over three ranked teams, including a 69-63 triumph over then-No. 1 Pittsburgh on Saturday. Louisville also defeated Villanova and Notre Dame.

Earl Clark is averaging 13.9 points to lead Louisville, which rallied from double-digit deficits in each half against Pittsburgh.

Rutgers (9-9, 0-5) is one of one of three winless teams in the conference, losing its last two by double digits. Seton Hall and DePaul are also 0-5 in the Big East.

Freshman Mike Rosario is scoring 17.1 points per game to lead the Scarlet Knights, who suffered a 71-59 setback at Cincinnati on January 14.
