Marquette looks to rebound from defeat vs. Delaware State
Dec 5, 2006 - 5:03 PM Delaware St (2-6) at No. 20 Marquette (8-1) 8:00 pm ESTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) - After a surprise defeat, No. 20 Marquette looks to return to its winning ways when it hosts Delaware State on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles won their first eight games of the season before getting shocked by North Dakota State, 64-60, on Saturday in the final of the Blue and Gold Classic.
Jerel McNeal collected 16 points and seven steals for Marquette, which shot just 36 percent (24-of-67).
Delaware State has lost back-to-back contests and six of eight to begin the season.
On Saturday, the Hornets absorbed a 62-40 setback at Purdue. Delaware State scored just 16 points in the first half and shot just 27 percent overall (13-of-48).
