New to the rankings, Florida State hosts Virginia

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Ticker) -- Making its first appearance in the coaches' poll in over five years, No. 25 Florida State aims for its third straight win when it hosts Virginia on Tuesday.

The Seminoles (18-5, 5-3 ACC) are coming off their biggest win of the season, rallying from a 19-point second-half deficit to post a 65-61 victory at then-No. 10 Clemson on Saturday.

Toney Douglas continued his stellar season with 23 points and seven rebounds in the win. The senior has netted 20 or more points in seven straight games and averages 20.3 per contest.

Virginia (7-12, 1-7) comes in on a seven-game losing streak, including a 76-61 setback at North Carolina on Saturday.

Freshman Sylven Landesberg is averaging 17.9 points to lead the Cavaliers, who lost at home to Florida State, 73-62, on January 24.

Florida State last entered the Top 25 on December 29, 2003, when it also was ranked 25th.
