Villanova visits West Virginia looking to keep rolling

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia (Ticker) -- Villanova aims for its seventh straight win when it visits West Virginia in a Big East Conference matchup on Friday.

The 13th-ranked Wildcats (20-4, 8-3 Big East) got off to a slow start but has since continued to climb through standings.

Offense has been one of the biggest strengths lately for Villanova, which has scored 100 or more points in consecutive games. The Wildcats had 94 points at Providence on February 4.

Scottie Reynolds scored 27 points and Corey Fisher had 21 off the bench as Villanova defeated No. 12 Marquette, 102-84, on Tuesday. The Wildcats shot 59 percent (37-of-63) from the floor, including 13-of-24 from the arc.

Dante Cunningham is scoring 17 points per game to lead the Wildcats, who won the lone meeting last season.

West Virginia (16-8, 5-6) has lost four of its past six games, including a 70-59 setback at Pittsburgh on Monday. The loss dropped the Mountaineers record against ranked teams to 2-7.

Da'Sean Butler is averaging 17.3 points per game to lead West Virginia. However, the junior forward netted a season-low four on 2-of-12 shooting in 18 minutes of play against Pittsburgh.
