Maryland hosts Duke looking for second straight upset

Feb 25, 2009 - 11:23 AM No. 7 Duke (22-5) at Maryland (17-9), 9:00 p.m. EST

COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Coming off its biggest win of the season, Maryland does not get a chance to relax.

The Terrapins hope to upset their second straight Atlantic Coast Conference rival when they host seventh-ranked Duke on Wednesday.

On the proverbial "bubble" for the NCAA Tournament, Maryland (17-9, 6-6 ACC) knocked off then-No. 3 North Carolina, 88-85, in overtime on Saturday.

Greivis Vasquez had a career-high 35 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Maryland, becoming the first Terrapins player since 1987 to record a triple-double. Vasquez is averaging a team-best 16.7 points per game.

Duke (22-5, 8-4) is coming off arguably its biggest win of the campaign, a 101-91 triumph over then-No. 8 Wake Forest.

Gerald Henderson scored a career-high 35 points and Jon Scheyer had a career-best 30 to lead the Blue Devils, who committed only six turnovers.

Henderson is averaging 16.3 points per game for Duke, which blasted Maryland in the first meeting this season, 85-44, on January 24.
