Kansas meets Toledo at Kemper Arena

Dec 9, 2006 - 3:21 PM Toledo (2-4) at No. 13 Kansas (7-2) 1:00 pm EST

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- Kansas has played down to its competition this season. It looks to turn that around on Saturday.

The 13th-ranked Jayhawks will host Toledo at Kemper Arena, where they have won 25 consecutive games.

Mario Chalmers and Brandon Rush scored 13 points to lead a balanced attack as the 13th-ranked Jayhawks posted a 72-62 victory over USC. Two nights after a loss to DePaul, Kansas (7-2) had its hands full with USC, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.

Kansas has not lost a regular-season game in Kansas City since a 64-61 defeat to Ohio State in January of 1983. The Jayhawks are 79-24 all-time at Kemper Arena.

Toledo (2-4) has lost two straight and has not played since a 98-93 overtime loss to Vanderbilt last Saturday.

Keonta Howell scored a career-high 32 points and Florentino Valencia had 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Rockets, who are meeting a ranked opponent for the first time since an 82-54 loss to Duke on December 12, 2004.
