Oden takes court for second time this season

Dec 9, 2006 - 3:56 PM Cleveland St (5-5) at No. 4 Ohio St (7-1) 4:00 pm EST

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Freshman Greg Oden makes his second appearance for No. 4 Ohio State in an intrastate battle against Cleveland State on Saturday.

Oden finally made his much-anticipated season debut last Saturday after sitting out the first month of the season due to a right wrist injury.

Despite having his right hand in a cast, the 7-footer had 14 points, including eight free throws, 10 rebounds and five blocks as the Buckeyes rolled to a 78-58 victory over Valparaiso.

Daequan Cook scored 20 points and fellow freshman Mike Conley added seven assists for Ohio State, which made 10 3-pointers.

Patrick Tatham collected eight points and eight rebounds as the Vikings absorbed a 90-63 defeat against Kansas State on Tuesday. Not one player for Cleveland State reached double figures in scoring and the team shot just 32 percent (22-of-68) overall.

The Buckeyes are 4-1 all-time in their series with the Vikings, who have lost two games in a row.
