Dec 9, 2006 - 4:47 PM No. 8 Washington (7-0) at No. 18 Gonzaga (8-2) 11:00 pm EST

SPOKANE, Washington (Ticker) -- Gonzaga puts its home winning streak - the longest in the nation - on the line when Washington pays a visit to McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday.

The 18th-ranked Bulldogs have won 44 straight home games. They are 32-0 in the three-year-old McCarthey Center, but have not lost in Spokane since a 72-68 setback to Portland on February 19, 2003 at the Kennel, an overall span of 50 consecutive home wins within the city.

However, Gonzaga endured a 77-67 loss to Washington State on Tuesday. Josh Heytvelt scored 22 points and Derek Raivio added 21, including five 3-pointers, for the Bulldogs, who committed 17 turnovers en route to having their overall three-game run ended.

The eighth-ranked Huskies remained unbeaten following an 87-72 win over Southern Utah on Monday. Ryan Appleby netted a career-high 24 points, including six 3-pointers, and freshman Spencer Hawes added a season-high 21.

Freshman Quincy Pondexter finished with 12 points and Jon Brockman pulled down 12 rebounds for Washington, which held a 35-25 rebounding advantage.

The Huskies ended a seven-game losing streak to the Bulldogs last season, but have not won here since 1944.
