Pitt forward Blake Hinson was named the Riley Wallace Award winner today. The award, named after the long-time University of Hawaii coach, is given to the most impactful transfer in division 1 college basketball.

“Blake Hinson didn’t play for two years so he viewed every day on the court as a privilege and helped change the fortunes of the Panthers this season,” said Angela Lento, Vice President of CollegeInsider.com. “His ability to stretch the floor, make threes, and play with ‘thankful energy’ helped Pittsburgh compete for an ACC regular season championship.”

This is a wonderful honor for Hinson, who had an incredible comeback season after missing two years of play. Past winners of the award include Brady Manek from UNC and former Notre Dame forward Elijah Burns, who won after transferring to Siena in 2019.
