Dec 14, 2006 - 2:45 PM Austin Peay (3-4) at No. 19 Memphis (7-2) 9:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- After playing five games in 11 days, Memphis finally has hit its stride.

Coming off a 4-1 stretch, the 19th-ranked Tigers will host Austin Peay on Thursday.

Falling just one win shy of the Final Four last season, Memphis has recovered nicely this season. However, it didn't look good for the Tigers until their recent busy stretch.

Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 17 points and Jeremy Hunt sparked a strong performance from the Memphis bench as the Tigers posted an 82-70 victory over Mississippi on Saturday.

The Tigers were coming off a lopsided 76-58 setback to Tennessee on December 6. Memphis shot only 29 percent (22-of-77) against the Volunteers and never recovered from a 43-22 halftime deficit However, Saturday's win capped off the 11-day test with four wins in five contests.

The Governors have won three of their last four games, including a 59-57 win at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. Reserve Landon Shipley scored 18 points and Derek Wright added 14, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with five seconds left.

Memphis has a 13-4 mark against Austin Peay, including an 11-1 mark at home.
