No. 16 Xavier ends Missouri's 7-game win streak

Jan 6, 2010 - 2:53 AM COLUMBIA, Mo.(AP) -- April Phillips scored 17 points and No. 16 Xavier withstood a late run by Missouri for a 68-60 victory Monday night that snapped the Tigers' seven-game winning streak.

Junior forward Amber Harris had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Xavier (10-3), which won for the third time in six games, while junior center TaShia Phillips added 13 points and six rebounds.

Christine Flores had 18 points for Missouri (10-3), which hosted a ranked nonconference opponent for the first time since No. 2 Stanford visited in 2004.

Missouri hit eight of its first 13 shots to take a 16-15 lead midway through the first half. But Xavier rallied with a 19-7 run to close the half and built their lead to 15 points.

An 11-0 Missouri run over the final 5 minutes cut Xaviers lead to four.
