No. 15 Texas beats Mizzou 64-59 in Big 12 tourney
Mar 11, 2010 - 9:55 PM By ERIC OLSON AP Sports WriterKANSAS CITY, Mo.(AP) -- Brittainey Raven scored 11 points and No. 15 Texas held off Missouri 64-59 in the first round of the Big 12 women's tournament Thursday.
Fifth-seeded Texas (23-7) trailed 29-28 at the half and couldn't put away the Tigers until the final minute. The Longhorns advanced to a quarterfinal game Friday against fourth-seeded Texas A&M.
Missouri (12-18) lost in its final game under Cindy Stein, who announced her resignation March 1. Stein was 185-177 in 12 years at Mizzou.
Amanda Hanneman kept the Tigers in the game, making a career-high seven 3-pointers and finishing with a game-high 21 points. Jessra Johnson had 11 points.
