UConn women easily get 87th straight win
Dec 10, 2010 - 2:53 AM Storrs, CT (Sports Network) - The Connecticut women's basketball team notched its 87th consecutive victory Thursday with a 79-47 rout of Marquette at Gampel Pavilion.Maya Moore, the school's all-time leading scorer, led the Huskies (9-0) with 31 points and eight rebounds. Bria Hartley and Tiffany Hayes both added 16 points in the win.
The UConn women are now one game away from matching the UCLA men's program (1971-74) for most consecutive wins in NCAA Division I basketball history.
