Michigan State gets by Minnesota
Feb 27, 2011 - 10:42 PM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Kalisha Keane tallied 19 points and eight rebounds as No. 10 Michigan State downed Minnesota, 65-51, thanks to a huge second-half burst.LyKendra Johnson added 18 points for the Spartans (25-4, 13-3 Big Ten), who saw Porsche Poole pour in 10 points.
Katie Loberg led the way with 19 points for the Gophers (12-17, 4-12). Kiara Buford posted 10 and four assists in a losing cause.
Minnesota led 45-33 with just under 13 1/2 minutes remaining, but Michigan State ripped off a 26-2 run over the next nine-plus minutes that put it ahead 59-47. Keane capped the long burst on a three-pointer with 4:05 remaining.
