California eases past Oregon State
Feb 2, 2013 - 5:27 AM Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) - Brittany Boyd tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds as No.6 California crushed Oregon State, 60-38, on Friday.Layshia Clarendon scored 12 and Afure Jemerigbe and Gennifer Brandon each poured in 11 for the Golden Bears (18-2, 8-1 Pac 12), who have won six straight.
Oregon State (9-12, 3-6) shot an abysmal 27.1 percent for the contest in dropping its third straight game. Ali Gibson scored 13 points on 5-of-15 shooting in the setback.
Despite scoring only 14 points in the first half, the Beavers trailed by just 13 points going into the break, but they didn't hang around for long in the second half.
The Golden Bears began the second session with an 18-6 push, as Eliza Pierre's triple put them ahead 45-20 just over six minutes in.
Oregon State only came within 16 points the rest of the way.
