McGraw earns 700th win, Notre Dame downs Nova
Feb 6, 2013 - 4:54 AM Villanova, PA (Sports Network) - Muffet McGraw earned her 700th victory in No. 2 Notre Dame's 59-52 win over Villanova.McGraw became the 13th coach in Division I history to surpass the 700-win mark. 612 of those wins have come at Notre Dame.
Natalie Achonwa netted 19 points to lead the Irish (21-1, 9-0 Big East), who have won 16 straight games.
Emily Leer had 15 points to lead the Wildcats (16-6, 5-4).
The Irish never trailed and led 29-21 at the break. Devon Kane's 3-pointer pulled the Wildcats within 48-46 before the Irish outscored Nova, 11-6, to close the contest.
