No. 3 Louisville tops No. 25 Rutgers
Feb 23, 2014 - 11:27 PM Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Asia Taylor poured in 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead third-ranked Louisville to a 73-58 win over No. 25 Rutgers on Sunday.Shoni Schimmel scored 13 and Sara Hammond added 12 points and 11 boards for the Cardinals (27-2, 15-1 AAC), who have won four straight.
Tyler Scaife tallied 17 points and Kahleah Copper had 15 points for the Scarlett Knights (20-6,11-4), who had a five game winning streak snapped. Betnijah Laney contributed 14 points and 12 boards.
Rutgers led for most of the first half until Hammond converted a three-point to put Louisville ahead, 22-21, with 8 1/2 minutes on the clock. Hammond's play sparked a 15-5 surge to give the Cardinals a 34-26 advantage at the break.
Louisville's lead never dipped below six points the rest of the way.
