No. 9 Maryland routs Virginia Tech
Mar 2, 2014 - 9:58 PM College Park, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Alyssa Thomas had 20 points and 12 rebounds to power ninth-ranked Maryland to an 87-48 win over Virginia Tech on Sunday.Brene Moseley scored 13 and Tierney Pfirman added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Terrapins (24-5, 12-4 ACC), who won eight of their last nine regular season game.
Vanessa Panousis and Taijah Campbell scored seven apiece to lead the Hokies (14-15, 4-12), who had a three-game win streak snapped to end the regular season.
Maryland jumped out to a 20-4 advantage 12 minutes into the first half and had a 38-15 lead at halftime. Virginia Tech could only come as close as 21 with 17:26 remaining in the game.
