Fields, Canada lift No. 12 UCLA women past Oregon 77-72

Feb 20, 2016 - 4:14 AM EUGENE, Ore. (AP) Nirra Fields had 23 points and Jordin Canada 20 and both had key points in the final minute as No. 12 UCLA ended Oregon's five-game winning streak Friday night, 77-72.

A tip-in by Jillian Alleyne tied the score at 70 with 52 seconds left but just seven seconds later Canada's layup put the Bruins back on top. The Ducks then had a turnover and Fields made two free throws with 19 seconds remaining. Oregon missed and Canada was fouled and after she made the first free throw at nine seconds, Monique Billings had a putback on Canada's miss to make it 77-70.

UCLA (20-6, 12-3 Pac-12) won its fourth straight and improved to 16-0 when leading at the half - the Bruins were up 33-29.

Alleyne had 25 points and 11 rebounds for her 91st double-double, breaking a tie for second in NCAA history. Lexi Bando and Lexi Petersen had 15 each for the Ducks (19-7, 8-7).
