Texas Tech women beat Iowa St. 89-84 in Big 12 tournament

Mar 5, 2016 - 2:40 AM OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Dayo Olabode scored 20 points and made a 3-pointer in the final minute to help Texas Tech pull away and beat Iowa State 89-84 Friday night in a Big 12 Conference Tournament opener.

The ninth-seeded Lady Raiders (13-17) move on to face top-seeded Baylor on Saturday.

Japreece Dean made four 3-pointers and finished with a career-best 28 points and had five assists to lead Texas Tech, which has won two of its last three. Zuri Sanders added 13 points with 14 rebounds. Olabode made a career-high 6 of 8 3-pointers.

Seanna Johnson scored 28 points and Bridget Carleton had 27 for No. 8 seed Iowa State (13-17). Jadda Buckley had 13 points and 12 assists.

The Cyclones never trailed in the fourth quarter until Sanders' jumper gave Texas Tech a 76-74 lead with three minutes left. It was tied 80-all before Olabode made a 3, Texas Tech made all six free-throw attempts, and Carleton made just 1 of 4 field goals in the last 1:15.
