Iowa State upsets Texas A&M, advances to Big-12 title game
Mar 9, 2007 - 4:19 AM OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Alison Lacey scored 11 points as Iowa State defeated No. 15 Texas A&M, 57-51, to advance to the championship game of the Big-12 Conference Tournament.Heather Ezell had 11 points off the bench for Iowa State (25-7), which will play in the title game for the first time since 2001.
It will face either Oklahoma or Baylor in the championship on Saturday.
The Cyclones shot 46 percent (21-of-46) from the floor and made 10-of-26 (39 percent) 3-pointers. They also held a 16-9 advantage in bench points.
Takia Starks scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Aggies (24-6), who had only one double-digit scorer in shooting 36 percent (21-of-58) from the field.
