Langhorne powers No. 3 Maryland past Ohio State

Dec 1, 2007 - 2:38 AM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Crystal Langhorne scored a game-high 17 points, leading No. 3 Maryland to a 77-53 victory over No. 17 Ohio State in the inaugural Big Ten-ACC Challenge on Friday.

Marissa Coleman scored 14 points, Laura Harper had 13, three steals and a team-high eight rebounds for the Terrapins (10-0). Kristi Toliver added nine points, 11 assists and three steals for Maryland.

Jantel Lavender led the Buckeyes (5-2) with 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Maryland led from start to finish, taking a 39-25 advantage into halftime. The Terrapins enjoyed their biggest lead of the game at 24 points with 3:05 remaining.

Langhorne, a senior center, grabbed six rebounds to reach 966 for her career, two short of the school record held by Vicky Bullett. Langhorne has 44 points in three starts since returning from a sprained ankle that forced her to miss six of Maryland's first seven games.

Ohio State went 21-for-71 from the floor (30 percent) and missed 15 of its 21 shots from 3-point range.
