Harper, Maryland hold off Virginia
Feb 9, 2008 - 2:48 AM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Laura Harper scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead fourth-ranked Maryland to an 86-80 triumph over Virginia on Friday in the Atlantic Coast Conference.Marissa Coleman collected 21 points and 12 rebounds and Kristi Toliver added 16 points and 12 assists for the Terrapins (25-2, 9-1 ACC), who have won three straight contests and improved to 17-0 at home this season.
Crystal Langhorne finished with 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting for Maryland, which overcame 18 turnovers by making 57 percent (31-of-54) of its shots from the field.
Paulisha Kellum scored 23 points, Aisha Mohammed added 15 and seven rebounds and Sharnee Zoll finished with 13 points for the Cavaliers (17-6, 5-2), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
