Starks, Franklin lead Texas A&M past TCU
Dec 3, 2007 - 12:53 AM FORT WORTH, Texas (Ticker) -- Takia Starks scored 24 points and A'Quonesia Franklin added 19 as No. 12 Texas A&M posted a 68-58 victory over Texas Christian on Sunday.Starks also added eight rebounds and five assists, while Patrice Reado chipped in 17 points for the Aggies, who were upset by TCU in the first round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
The Horned Frogs pulled with 55-52 with 3:52 left in the game, but the Aggies went on a 13-6 run to seal the game.
Franklin and Starks made six straight free throws to close the game and help Texas A&M beat its intrastate rival for the 28th time in the last 30 meetings.
Micaela Younger scored 21 points for the Horned Frogs, which shot 37.5 percent (21-of-56) from the floor.
