Sizzling shooting leads Utah to 19th straight win
Feb 28, 2008 - 5:48 AM SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Kalee Whipple had 19 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as No. 15 Utah captured its 19th consecutive win with a 68-53 victory over TCU in the Mountain West Conference on Wednesday.Morgan Warburton also scored 19 points for the Utes (24-3, 13-0 MWC), who captured a share of the MWC regular-season title with three games remaining.
Shooting 50 percent (16-of-32) in the first half, Utah held a 35-25 lead at the half. It was a lead that would grow to as many as 17 points with 12:05 left in the contest.
Leilani Mitchell and Jessica Perry had 14 points apiece for the Utes, who finished with 31 points off of 20 turnovers by TCU.
Lori Butler-Rayford scored 14 points and Adrianne Ross added 13 for the Horned Frogs (17-10, 10-3).
