California fights off New Mexico
Nov 19, 2007 - 12:57 AM BERKELEY, California (Ticker) -- Alexis Gray-Lawson scored 10 of her 11 points down the stretch to spark No. 12 California to a 52-44 victory over New Mexico on Sunday.Lauren Greif scored 14 points and Ashley Walker added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Golden Bears (3-0), who shot 47 percent (18-of-38).
Cal held New Mexico to 28 percent shooting (9-of-32) in the first half but the game was still tied, 20-20.
Dionne Marsh scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half and Jessica Kielpinski added 10 points for New Mexico (3-1), which was just 2-of-17 from the arc.
