Zavecz's jumper lifts Wyoming over San Francisco
Jan 4, 2008 - 7:15 AM SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) -- Hanna Zavecz's jumper as time expired lifted No. 22 Wyoming over San Francisco, 53-51, on Thursday.Wyoming (12-1) led for the entire second half and by as many as 10 points with 11:52 remaining before the Dons rallied to tie it on a layup by Jordan Kuzma with 17 seconds to play.
Justyna Podziemska had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead the Cowgirls and Zavecz finished with 16 and seven. Wyoming shot just 35 percent (17-of-49) from the field and made 7-of-30 shots from the arc.
Necolla Simmons scored 17 points to lead San Francisco (9-6), which committed 20 turnovers.
