Ajavon, Rutgers roll to 10th consecutive win

Jan 20, 2008 - 9:49 PM PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Matee Ajavon scored 23 points as fifth-ranked Rutgers extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 70-57 victory over Louisville in the Big East Conference on Sunday.

Kia Vaughn had 15 and nine rebounds and Essence Carson scored 14 and Epiphanny Prince 13 for the Scarlet Knights (15-2, 5-0 Big East), who shot 51 percent (22-of-43) and held a 43-34 rebounding advantage.

Rutgers went 12-of-24 from the field with four 3-pointers in the first half en route to a 32-23 lead. That advantage grew to 13 points midway through the second half.

Angel McCoughtry scored 20 points and pulled down 13 boards for the Cardinals (12-6, 1-4), who finished 5-of-23 on 3-pointers.
