Ajavon, Rutgers roll to 10th consecutive win
Jan 20, 2008 - 9:49 PM PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Matee Ajavon scored 23 points as fifth-ranked Rutgers extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 70-57 victory over Louisville in the Big East Conference on Sunday.Kia Vaughn had 15 and nine rebounds and Essence Carson scored 14 and Epiphanny Prince 13 for the Scarlet Knights (15-2, 5-0 Big East), who shot 51 percent (22-of-43) and held a 43-34 rebounding advantage.
Rutgers went 12-of-24 from the field with four 3-pointers in the first half en route to a 32-23 lead. That advantage grew to 13 points midway through the second half.
Angel McCoughtry scored 20 points and pulled down 13 boards for the Cardinals (12-6, 1-4), who finished 5-of-23 on 3-pointers.
