South Florida holds off DePaul
Feb 6, 2008 - 3:52 AM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Shantia Grace scored 35 points to lead South Florida to a 78-73 victory over No. 25 DePaul on Tuesday in a Big East Conference matchup.Grace added five rebounds and six assists and was complemented by Jazmine Sepulveda, who scored 22 points and grabbed seven boards.
South Florida (12-10, 2-7 Big East) led 37-34 at the half and shot 54 percent (15-of-28) from the field over the final 20 minutes to hold on for the win.
Grace was not even the game's high scorer as DePaul's Allie Quigley scored 36 points. Quigley was 13-of-22 from the field and made all eight of her free throws.
Deirdre Naughton scored 14 points for DePaul (16-6, 5-4), which was 8-of-26 from the arc.
