Ellis, Marquette use strong second half to upset Pittsburgh

Feb 24, 2008 - 6:10 AM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Krystal Ellis scored 18 points to lead Marquette to a 76-69 upset over No. 21 Pittsburgh in a Big East Conference contest on Saturday.

Angel Robinson scored 17 points for the Golden Eagles (15-12, 7-7 Big East), who outscored the Panthers, 19-12, in the final minutes to post its fourth straight win.

Marcedes Walker scored 19 points for Pittsburgh (18-7, 8-4), which opened the game on an 11-0 run and led 33-27 after 20 minutes.

Jocelyn Mellen scored 15 points off the bench for Marquette, which managed to win despite shooting just 28 percent (10-of-35) in the first half.
