Oklahoma State ends Baylor's run toward conference title
Mar 7, 2008 - 5:45 AM WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Andrea Riley scored 27 points as No. 19 Oklahoma State downed No. 8 Baylor, 72-68, on Thursday in Big 12 Conference play.Shaunte Smith added 17 points for the Cowgirls (23-6, 11-5 Big 12), who dashed the Lady Bears' hopes of tying Kansas State (13-3) for the regular-season conference title.
Oklahoma State, which led by as many 13 points late in the first half, was not able to put the game away until Maria Cordero's layup with 37 seconds left gave it a 72-68 advantage. The Cowgirls won despite a 21-6 disadvantage in second-chance points.
Angela Tisdale had 18 points for Baylor (24-5, 12-4), which will be the second seed in the league tournament that starts on Tuesday.
