Fowles scores 25 points as LSU beats Michigan State
Nov 16, 2007 - 4:23 AM BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles scored 25 points to lead fourth-ranked Louisiana State to a 64-41 triumph over No. 18 Michigan State on Thursday.The win propelled the Lady Tigers (3-0) into the finals of the Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament against the winner of the matchup between Maryland and Notre Dame on Friday.
Fowles shot 10-of-20 from the floor and drained all five free throws, adding 10 rebounds, four steals and two blocks in 28 minutes.
LSU held Michigan State (2-1) scoreless for over seven minutes to start the game and recorded the first 15 points of the contest.
The Spartans shot just 34 percent (14-of-41) and their starters were just 6-of-24 for 16 points.
