Connecticut rolls in Big East quarters

Mar 9, 2008 - 11:29 PM HARTFORD, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Renee Montgomery scored 19 points to lead four players in double figures as top-ranked Connecticut posted an 86-67 victory over DePaul in the quarterfinals of the Big East Conference tournament on Sunday.

Tina Charles had 16 points and Maya Moore added 14 and 15 rebounds for the Huskies (30-1), which advanced to face Pittsburgh in the semifinals on Monday.

Charde Houston also scored 14 points for Connecticut, which shot 48 percent (36-of-75) and finished with a 50-32 advantage in rebounds.

The Huskies have won their last nine games en route to a third-straight 30-win campaign.

Allie Quigley scored 17 points for DePaul (20-11), which committed 16 turnovers.
