Connecticut rolls in Big East quarters
Mar 9, 2008 - 11:29 PM HARTFORD, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Renee Montgomery scored 19 points to lead four players in double figures as top-ranked Connecticut posted an 86-67 victory over DePaul in the quarterfinals of the Big East Conference tournament on Sunday.Tina Charles had 16 points and Maya Moore added 14 and 15 rebounds for the Huskies (30-1), which advanced to face Pittsburgh in the semifinals on Monday.
Charde Houston also scored 14 points for Connecticut, which shot 48 percent (36-of-75) and finished with a 50-32 advantage in rebounds.
The Huskies have won their last nine games en route to a third-straight 30-win campaign.
Allie Quigley scored 17 points for DePaul (20-11), which committed 16 turnovers.
