Green, Old Dominion advance to semifinals in CAA tourney

Mar 15, 2008 - 5:52 AM NEWARK, Delaware (Ticker) -- Tiffany Green collected 19 points and 22 rebounds to lead No. 14 Old Dominion to an 82-65 victory over UNC Wilmington in Friday's quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament.

Shahida Williams had 16 points and 11 boards and Jessica Canady scored 14 off the bench for the Lady Monarchs, who improved to an impressive 48-0 record in the CAA tourney.

Old Dominion (27-4) will face fifth-seeded Towson in Saturday's semifinal matchup.

The top-seeded Lady Monarchs shot 51 percent (15-of-29) from the floor in the first half to create a 37-21 edge and never looked back.

Shade Smith carried the load with 16 points for the Seahawks (17-14), who fell to 0-37 all-time in the series against the Lady Monarchs.
