Blue Hens thump ODU in CAA quarters
Mar 9, 2012 - 9:21 PM Upper Marlboro, MD (Sports Network) - Elena Delle Donne scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading seventh-ranked Delaware to a 74-54 rout of Old Dominion in the Colonial Athletic Association quarterfinals.Trumae Lucas added 14 points for the Blue Hens (28-1), who will face the winner between Hofstra and UNC-Wilmington in Saturday's semifinals.
Jackie Cook scored 17 points and Myeisha Hall added 14 for Old Dominion (11-21).
The Lady Monarchs opened the scoring on a bucket by JoNiquia Guilford, but Lauren Carra followed with a three-pointer and the Blue Hens never trailed again.
It was 18-8 just six minutes into the contest and 39-29 at halftime. Delaware led by double figures throughout the second half.
