Starks leads Texas A&M past North Texas

Dec 19, 2006 - 4:53 AM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Takia Starks scored 20 points and Danielle Gant added 14 and 11 rebounds as No. 19 Texas A&M posted a 70-52 victory over North Texas.

Patrice Reado had 12 points off the bench and La Toya Micheaux added 10 for the Aggies, who scored 36 points off 26 Mean Green turnovers and snapped a two-game losing streak.

Micheaux, the daughter of Larry Micheaux, a member of the University of Houston's famed Phi Slamma Jamma in the early 1980s, also grabbed nine boards for Texas A&M (8-2), which outrebounded North Texas, 47-33

Starks shot 7-of-19 from the field for the Aggies, who have won three straight against the Mean Green and are 8-1 vs. North Texas in College Station.

Sanetra Jackson scored 24 points and Amber Jackson added 10 for North Texas (3-8), which shot 41 percent (20-of-49).
