Briody, New Mexico rout New Mexico State
Dec 20, 2006 - 7:17 AM LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (Ticker) -- Julie Briody helped New Mexico rout its intrastate rival.Briody scored 19 points and Katie Montgomery added 14 as the 25th-ranked Lobos posted a 65-45 victory over New Mexico State.
The win was the 22nd in the all-time series for New Mexico, including the second this season. The Lobos posted an 81-47 rout on December 2.
Briody was 5-of-9 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the arc. Montgomery shot 4-of-9 and 3-of-5.
Angela Hartill collected 10 points and nine rebounds for New Mexico (9-2), which shot just 36 percent (20-of-56) from the field but outrebounded the Aggies, 41-31.
Sherell Neal and Cecili Russell-Nava scored 11 points apiece for New Mexico State (4-7), which shot 33 percent (16-of-49).
