Cosby's deep shooting lifts Arkansas
Dec 21, 2006 - 6:12 AM HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas (Ticker) -- Donica Cosby's sizzling shooting continued Arkansas' surge.Cosby made seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points as the No. 24 Lady Razorbacks captured their sixth straight win with a 75-54 victory over Stephen F. Austin.
The freshman guard sank her first four attempts from the arc en route to finishing 7-of-10 on 3-pointers. Arkansas shot 11-of-22 overall from long distance as it matched the best start in school history at 13-1, previously accomplished in 1996-97.
Lauren Ervin scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds - including six offensive - for the Lady Razorbacks, who held a 48-36 advantage on the boards.
Charity Egenti had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Ladyjacks (7-6), who shot 35 percent (23-of-65) in losing their second straight game following a five-game winning streak.
