Vanderbilt routs Lipscomb in Holiday Classic
Dec 21, 2006 - 6:42 AM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Vanderbilt easily gained a spot in its own tournament final.Amber Norton scored 14 points to lead four players in double figures as No. 12 Vanderbilt crushed Lipscomb, 109-40, in the Holiday Classic.
The Commodores (10-1) will play Indiana State on Thursday for the tourney title.
Jessica Mooney scored 12 points, hitting all six of her shots from the field, as Vanderbilt shot 69 percent (44-of-64) and nailed 25-of-31 shots in the second half.
Twelve players scored for the Commodores, who forced Lipscomb (3-7) into 29 turnovers and enjoyed a 41-21 rebounding edge.
Catie Woods scored nine points to lead Lipscomb, which shot 28 percent (14-of-50).
